I don't like to have Christian do a "photo shoot" because it's really not his "thing."

But once a year, I ask Christian if I can take some pictures of him around his birthday to document his moving into a new year and he's all game. We did it quick and easy in between errand running one afternoon last week of November.

(Christian is more of the serious type - but he enjoys making faces for pictures like this :) He can do amazing things with his eye brows to which he will then ask me, "Mom, can you do this with your eyebrows?" Love him.)

(When he was born I wrote in his baby journal, "Christian was born with natural eye make-up. If he ever has a sister, I think she'll be jealous ha!")

(When he does smile big I love how his eyes disappear into his tons of eyelashes and the documentation of which teeth have been lost and which have grown in can be captured. Christian has an awesome laugh. It's contagious.)

We took a flag he hangs in his room, his favorite airplane off his wall, his big brother's jacket, a hat that was my great-grandfathers, and an old flight cap that Robert brought home to me one day and put them in the car. Christian was in his usual - his fav jeans and a plain comfy shirt.

He likes planes. He dreams of flying one day. He has other dreams too but I think that's his biggest desire. He's wanted to fly pretty much since he was two. We've got several small airports near our place and so finding a plane wasn't too hard. Across from the airport was an empty lot - and in the back was an old car. I thought that was a cool place to take a few photos there too.

On the way back from the store we passed back through our little town - there we saw the cafe area I'd done some of my maternity photos in last summer and we jumped out and took a few. After picking Scott up from school, I've been going for my run at the park we we shot a few shots there with his flag.
