Haven River Welch ~ born as the sun rose over the hills Sunday morning, September 25, 2011. 8 pounds 3 ounces and a little over 21 inches long.
First light noticeable contraction at 6:17 am. Hard contraction at 6:25 am and called the midwife. Midwife arrived at the house at about 7:00. Haven River was born at 7:17. No complications. Beautiful, healthy baby girl. Easy, quick natural labor. Could not have been better. Recovering from long, hot, difficult pregnancy.
Peaceful, quiet baby, eating and sleeping very well ~ Excitedly greeted into the world by lots of happy noise, hugs, and kisses. Very chubby cheeks. I hold her and look at her continually. In my arms now.
God's mercy is new every morning. Great is His faithfulness.
"Haven" ~ A place of safety and refuge from the storm. A safe sanctuary. A place of rest, peace, and deliverance. A secure place of protection. An oasis of rest and peace. In the arms of God.
Psa 59:16 "...But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, for You have been my stronghold, and a refuge (safe haven) in the day of my distress." Psa 34:22 "The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who take refuge in Him will be condemned." Psa 36:7 "How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings." Psa 55:8 “I would hasten to my place of refuge, a haven from the stormy wind and tempest.”
"River" ~ A natural stream of water that brings life to dry land. Life giving. Source of energy and life. Jesus is the River of Life. He alone can satisfy our thirsty soul. Come to the River of Life and thirst no more.
John 7:37-38 "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believes on Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water."
My heart is full of gratitude.
