Brighton Hope is 15 Weeks!

Robert came in as I was doing the dishes, after playing with the kids and putting them to bed. He said, "Babe, life is grand."

This little guy thought so too when I put up the boys' tent and let him take his nap in there!

Yes, he really did eventually fall asleep... Though he was very excited about "nap camping" as we called it.

Brighton is 15 weeks today~ and she's up with me now to "celebrate" it here at 2am!

She is rolling from her tummy to her back and occasionally from her back to her tummy. When she is on her tummy she likes to push up on her hands/arms and attempt to move forward by shoving her face into the ground. Shelton says she is "swimming." ~

She has switched to sucking her right thumb primarily instead of her left~

She loves to "talk" (sometimes in the middle of the night still) ~ but mostly in the evenings after her nap. We are enjoying all her little "cooing" and expressions so much!

"...Sustaining love is not a passive or spontaneous experience.

It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't "find" LASTING love. You have to make it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression "the labor of love."

Because it takes time, effort, and energy, And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. Wisdom from Above. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.

Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do to succeed with your marriage. Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships.

Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect..."

"...Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with ACTIONS and in TRUTH..." 1 John 3:18

how 'bout listing some of those "laws" for marriage.. the things/habits/choices that help make a better marriage... I bet a lot of us could use some exortation in that direction!

Aww, there's that precious niece of mine! I love, love, love her smiles and "oooo" faces! She's too sweet for words. Can't wait to squeeze her cheeks and kiss her face!

Brighton is just too precious. Even at 2am. ;)

From the looks of it, even on days when walls get holes in them, life is indeed "grand"... it's all in how you look at it.

Lys . . .your life is grand . . . and crazy! I love reading about it! Sometimes I just shake my head in wonderment at all God has brought your way. He truly does not withhold any good thing from them that walk uprightly. As Earl has been encouraging David lately, so I encourage you (and myself!) . . . keep doing the hard thing and trusting God for the good thing. When we run from the hard thing to embrace what we think is the good thing . . . well, you know. Keep on dear Sister. I'm full of admiration and love for you!

I am just stepping out of the middle ages and have joined the 21st century with high speed internet. I can't BELIEVE the difference-and one of them is that I can actually listen to your songs! That song you posted a while back-of you and your 'band'. I am really late in saying this, but I just loved it. LOVED it. And it actually brought my husband down from upstairs when he heard it and he just kept shaking his head in wonderment. I said, "THIS is the lady I have been telling you about!"

I totally get that a blog naturally only shows the fabulous things about a person and often makes them to appear more incredible than they really are-because the 'real' us has shortcomings that we don't need to reveal or have the opportunity to reveal in blogdom. You have written about struggles and pain-but I can't fathom how you COULD have any BAD qualities, or that you could struggle in any way. You are GORGEOUS. Your kids and husband are GORGEOUS. Your disposition is GORGEOUS. Your singing is GORGEOUS. Your photography is GORGEOUS. Your heart is GORGEOUS. (I could use other adjectives but...Gorgeous does seem to cover it, wouldn't you say?!?) Anyway. My head tells me there HAS to be a fault somewhere, but my heart could use a bit of a pick me up. Any chance you want to admit a shortcoming and allow a collective sigh of relief to the other millions of people out there that might not be SO incredibly gifted as you?!? PLease?!?!

"My head tells me there HAS to be a fault somewhere..."

Rebecca, your head is right! :) If you see anything good at all, it is because of Jesus Christ. And only Him. We are all very human, sinful, full of shortcomings, faults, struggles, pains... which makes me very grateful for the grace and mercy of God! :) :)

I want to always be honest about who I am: a sinner deserving of hell. Who sins daily, fails daily.

And honest about who HE is: My Heavenly Father deserving of all praise and adoration for plucking me out of the muck and washing me clean and making me holy so that one day I can stand before Him and live eternally with HIM! Praise God.

Blessings to you~ and may the Lord draw our eyes to see Him more and more each day :)
